The Fortress Management and Policy Server (MaPS) provides centralized management for Security Gateways and Controllers. MaPS controls, configures and provides policy management for thousands of Fortress Security Gateways and Controllers across enterprise networks and remote facilities.

MaPS centralizes definition and control of security services and access control policies. MaPS manages policies for role-based access control based on user, device, time of day, location, and class of service. MaPS enforces policy across the security infrastructure and centrally monitors users, devices, status and alerts. MaPS maintains a hierarchical view of the network, and centrally tracks user sessions and roaming statistics to control users, devices and traffic flow and ensure security and application performance. MaPS centralizes configuration of Fortress Gateway settings, such as encryption and authentication parameters. MaPS supports corporate Windows 2K, XP, or 2K3 platforms and can be configured for full server redundancy.

Fortress Secure Clients are security agents that provide the same level of high assurance security across all client devices. All critical security functions - encryption, authentication, data integrity checking, key exchange, and data compression - are optimized to ensure transparent operation.

The Fortress Secure Client enables devices to securely communicate with the network and peer to peer. When installed, the Fortress Secure Client creates a unique device identifier so that only authorized devices are allowed access to the network. This lightweight software agent supports the widest range of devices and operating systems. The Fortress Secure Client runs on PCs, tablets, PDAs, and industrial devices that run Windows, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Linux, Palm (Tungsten C), DOS, or Mac OS X (Tiger and Panther). The Secure Clients are part of the Fortress Security System which includes FC-X, MaPS™ and WMS.
