Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers
Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers are responsible for system wide wireless LAN functions such as security policies, intrusion prevention, RF management, quality of service, location tracking and mobility.
They work in conjunction with Cisco access points and the Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS) to support business-critical wireless applications.
As Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers support the IEEE 802.11n draft 2.0 standard, MLR can ensure future investment protection as well as a greater level of performance even with existing 802.11 a/b/g hardware.
Cisco Access Points
The Cisco Aironet access points are business-ready, 802.11n access points designed for simple deployment in a range of environments. This high-performance platform, which offers at least six times the throughput of existing 802.11a/g networks, prepares the business for the next wave of mobile devices and applications.
A number of the Cisco Aironet access points can also be configured to support Enterprise Wireless Mesh which provides wireless connectivity for indoor areas that are difficult or impossible to wire. Mesh access points do not require wired connections and use the 2.4 GHz frequency to deliver network access to users in hard-to-reach areas, and use the 5 GHz band to backhaul traffic to traditional access points connected to Ethernet ports.

Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS) is the industry leading platform for wireless LAN planning, configuration, and management.
With Cisco WCS, network administrators have a single solution for RF prediction, policy provisioning, network optimisation, troubleshooting, user tracking, security monitoring, and wireless LAN systems management.
